This is an exciting opportunity for a Diagnostics Technician to join our team. The Technician will be responsible for fault finding, repairing and assembling devices using power tools and hand tools. The ideal candidate will have electronic knowledge and be able to read schematics, and be able to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Testing to relevant procedures and specifications using the appropriate customer/CTDI software and field configuration.
  • Component level diagnosis on customer field returned units, with or without the aid of drawings and circuit diagrams.
  • Replacing defective surface mount and conventional components using standard soldering techniques.
  • Identify and undertake repairs to return product to the required standard.
  • Documenting all repairs on internal databases.
  • Disassemble/reassemble/clean & prepare customer field returns.
  • Re-configure hardware to manually test products as necessary.
  • Prompt identification of problems regarding process, quality, and performance.
  • Provide constructive feedback to Engineering and Management on technical and quality issues.
  • Practical knowledge and experience of department test equipment.
  • Provide cross training and support to other technical and operator staff.
  • Perform maintenance and calibration checks on test systems.
  • Provide support to other areas of the business when required
  • An electrical, electronic engineering national qualification or equivalent
  • Technician level experience in production environment
  • Self-motivated individual with ability to work with minimal supervision and with strong focus for on-time delivery
  • Good team player with good communication skills
  • Ability to read/interpret circuit schematics, customer specifications, rework instructions
  • Experience of working with test equipment (e.g. oscilloscopes, multi-meters)
  • Ensure all quality standards are adhered to
  • Ensure ESD requirements are followed
  • Strong time keeping and attendance record
