THE ROLE: We are recruiting for a process driven and methodical Accounts Administrator to join a friendly and welcoming team based in Wellington due to an increase in business levels. You will play an important part within the accounts department supporting with purchase ledger, sales ledger and general accounts duties. This is initially a temporary role however for the right candidate it may become permanent therefore you must be available immediately or on a short notice period to be considered.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Purchase Ledger - receiving purchase invoices, matching with delivery notes/purchase orders, managing the approval process and then coding and posting into Sage, reconciling accounts against supplier statements and preparing payment runs for approval, raising queries and liaising with suppliers as required.
- Sales Ledger/Credit Control - raising sales applications and invoices and emailing to clients or inputting onto client systems, updating the aged debtors report and chasing overdue debtors, receiving customer queries and passing to the Commercial team for resolution.
- Banking - on a daily basis, posting bank receipts and payments and completing bank reconciliations, daily reporting on cash balances to Finance Manager/Managing Director.
- Payroll - Setting up new employees on Sage Payroll, receiving timesheets and entering onto wages spreadsheet and chasing up missing timesheets, assist with the payroll process on a fortnightly and monthly basis.
- Management Accounts - assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including processing journals, reconciling balance sheet control accounts, preparing contract P&L reports, etc.
- General Admin - answering telephone calls, opening & distributing post, filing, etc.
KEY SKILLS:
- Prior accounts/finance experience
- Keen eye for figures with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong IT and communication skills - knowledge of Sage would be desirable however not essential
- Well organised and excellent time management skills
