Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Facilities Engineer to join our Site Operations Chapter. This role involves managing small civil projects to ensure the site's high-quality standards and assets are maintained while ensuring compliance with laws and regulations. You will manage third-party contractors, review and approve Contractor Induction, Risk Assessment, and Method Statements before any work is undertaken on site, and assess and agree on the completion of work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver excellent service to all internal customers by maintaining office buildings and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Complete planned maintenance, timely repair of breakdowns, and conduct continuous improvement and project activities.
  • Identify problem areas to ensure an efficient and effective maintenance service.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal and external standards, laws, regulations, and codes of practice governing site maintenance.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Experience in an office building environment, managing contractors, and working on small to large projects.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety in building and engineering practice.
  • Proficiency in Building Management Systems, current technology/systems, software applications, and the latest IT tools.
  • Good working knowledge of building services, ensuring preventative maintenance is carried out and assets have the right maintenance schedules.
  • Planning and implementation of site projects and supporting capital projects.
  • Understanding of supply, reporting, and costing of utility services.
  • The ability to work with complex instructions, identify issues, and enact plans to resolve situations quickly.
  • Manage multiple maintenance issues daily, prioritising based on risk/business impact.
  • Well-organised, attention to detail, proactive approach to work.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Flexible with a 'can do' attitude, able to work outside normal hours and respond to out-of-hours call-outs.
  • Ability to work within a team or individually.
  • Sense of personal responsibility and time management.
  • Demonstrates leadership through interpersonal skills, with a professional and pleasant manner.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with an aptitude for analysis and detail.
  • Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure service meets expectations.

Qualifications:

  • Multi-skilled with either electrical, mechanical, and/or air conditioning qualifications.
  • Sound knowledge and experience of building services and Health and Safety requirements.
  • Mechanical or electrical skills through time-served apprenticeship or relevant practical experience.
