I am currently seeking a Graduate Structural Engineer to join a multidisciplinary consultancy specialising in civil and structural engineering, based in Hertfordshire. This is an excellent opportunity to work on innovative solutions within the residential and domestic sectors. The role involves designing, analysing, and detailing structural elements for residential and domestic buildings. You will work closely with senior engineers on a range of exciting and challenging projects, gaining hands-on experience, and contributing to the team's success.
Key Responsibilities for this Graduate Structural Engineering role include:
- Assist in the design and analysis of structural systems for residential and domestic buildings.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to produce calculations, reports, and drawings.
- Perform structural assessments and inspections of existing buildings and properties.
- Work with other design teams to ensure structural elements integrate with other disciplines.
- Ensure compliance with building regulations, codes of practice, and safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Participate in site visits and surveys to support project development.
Skills and Experience Required for this Graduate Structural Engineering role:
- 2-3 years of experience in structural engineering, particularly in the domestic/residential sector.
- A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
- Proficiency with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and structural analysis tools (e.g., Tekla, ETABS, or similar).
- Solid understanding of UK building codes, standards, and regulations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
