Job Description:
Hunter AHP is excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Locum Dispensary Outpatient Pharmacist to join a reputable NHS hospital in Hertfordshire. This role will involve working within the outpatient dispensary, ensuring the accurate and efficient dispensing of medications, while contributing to the overall delivery of high-quality pharmacy services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dispense prescriptions for outpatient services in accordance with NHS procedures and policies.
- Provide expert advice to patients on the safe and appropriate use of medications.
- Ensure the accurate preparation and dispensation of medications, checking for potential drug interactions and contraindications.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure the safe use of medicines across the outpatient setting.
- Assist in the management of stock control, ensuring appropriate stock levels and the safe storage of medicines.
- Provide support in the review and management of patient medication histories.
Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience in dispensary pharmacy is essential.
- GPhC registration as a qualified pharmacist.
- Excellent knowledge of medicines, drug interactions, and clinical pharmacy practices.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to manage a busy dispensary environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
Hourly Rates:
The role offers competitive hourly rates between £24 to £28 per hour, depending on experience. This is a full-time locum position with the potential for extension based on the needs of the hospital.
