gap technical are proud to be representing this global manufacturing business in their search for a Fair Inspector/Engineer to work at their facility based near Welwyn Garden City

Performance Objectives

  • Complete First Article Inspection Report (FAIR)
  • Accurately record measurements where required and produce FAIR Form
  • Ensure that robust inspection practices and techniques are employed in an efficient manner for all customer products
  • Identify and record any non-conformances, ensuring a detailed report on what the requirement should have been, what was found and detail any supporting drawing specifications
  • Checking paperwork for compliance (eg route card sign-off, subcontract paperwork etc)
  • Knowledge & compliance to group quality procedures
  • Administration of non-conforming parts using established company systems and procedures.
  • Work in accordance with production & QC priorities, instructions and workloads
  • Ensure Inspection equipment is fully functional and within calibration.
  • To notify QA of any equipment not meeting these requirements.
  • Use of Microsoft office and Aventa to generate relevant paperwork and records.
  • Maintain good housekeeping of drawings, specifications, records equipment and work area.
  • Compliance to Health and Safety / Environmental requirements and procedures.

Person Specification

  • A-C GCSE Level or equivalent in English and Maths;
  • Health & Safety Training.
  • Quality qualification
  • Experience in Manufacturing Environment
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings,
  • Experience of geometric, dimensioning and tolerances
  • competent in in completing FAIRs
  • Proven knowledge of Inspection procedures & standards;
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships
  • Good time management and organisational skills.

Desirable

  • Competent in running and programming CMM using Polyworks software
  • Experience in Aerospace Industry
  • IT proficiency with the ability to input and retrieve data
