Help individuals move into settled housing while ensuring compliance with housing legislation and tenancy support services.THE ROLEAs a Housing Resolutions Officer, you will support households in temporary accommodation by offering advice on housing options and ensuring they receive the assistance needed to transition into settled accommodation.
  • Conduct home visits to assess housing needs and provide tailored advice on available housing options.
  • Support residents in bidding for social housing and accessing private rental options.
  • Investigate and resolve complaints, tenancy breaches, and anti-social behaviour within temporary accommodation.
  • Assess the suitability of temporary accommodation and issue offer and suitability letters in line with legal requirements.
  • Work with landlords, housing providers, and partner agencies to ensure property standards and compliance.
  • Investigate cases of domestic violence and fear of violence, taking necessary action to protect residents.
  • Maintain accurate records, monitor performance data, and contribute to service improvement.
THE CANDIDATEThe ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar housing role, particularly within homelessness services or housing options.
  • Strong knowledge of housing legislation, including the Housing Act 1996, Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, and related case law.
  • Experience providing advice and support to vulnerable individuals, particularly those in temporary accommodation.
  • Understanding of tenancy rights, landlord-tenant law, and the suitability of accommodation assessments.
  • Ability to manage caseloads, prioritise tasks, and work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to resolve housing disputes.
