- Conduct home visits to assess housing needs and provide tailored advice on available housing options.
- Support residents in bidding for social housing and accessing private rental options.
- Investigate and resolve complaints, tenancy breaches, and anti-social behaviour within temporary accommodation.
- Assess the suitability of temporary accommodation and issue offer and suitability letters in line with legal requirements.
- Work with landlords, housing providers, and partner agencies to ensure property standards and compliance.
- Investigate cases of domestic violence and fear of violence, taking necessary action to protect residents.
- Maintain accurate records, monitor performance data, and contribute to service improvement.
- Strong knowledge of housing legislation, including the Housing Act 1996, Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, and related case law.
- Experience providing advice and support to vulnerable individuals, particularly those in temporary accommodation.
- Understanding of tenancy rights, landlord-tenant law, and the suitability of accommodation assessments.
- Ability to manage caseloads, prioritise tasks, and work effectively under pressure.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to resolve housing disputes.
