Make a Difference as an SEN Teaching Assistant in Brent!

GSL Education Watford are currently recruiting a number of compassionate and proactive SEN Teaching Assistants to support students in our inclusive schools in Brent. This is an incredible opportunity to work with children with special educational needs and have a meaningful impact on their learning journey.

 

Responsibilities as an SEN Teaching Assistant:

Individualized Support: Work one-on-one with students or small groups to provide targeted academic and emotional assistance.

Classroom Assistance: Assist the teacher in creating a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.

Intervention Strategies: Implement specific strategies to meet the needs of children with special educational needs (SEN), including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and learning delays.

Behavioural Support: Help students develop social, emotional, and behavioural skills in collaboration with the school team.

Progress Monitoring: Track and report on student progress and behaviour, and provide feedback to teachers and SENCOs.

Encouragement: Build positive relationships and encourage confidence, self-esteem, and independence.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Previous Experience: Experience supporting students with SEN is highly desirable.

Communication: Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills to engage students effectively.

Empathy and Patience: A genuine desire to support the needs of children with SEN and the ability to maintain a calm and supportive demeanour.

Teamwork: Ability to collaborate with teachers, support staff, and external professionals.

Flexibility: Adaptability to meet the varying needs of students and the school.

Safeguarding Awareness: Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.
