Nurture Teacher for Primary (Special Needs)—Harrow (Middlesex)

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Nurture Teacher to join our team, supporting primary-aged students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). This is a rewarding opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young students who require additional care and tailored learning approaches.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver nurturing and inclusive lessons for Primary students with a range of special needs, including Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism, and Learning Difficulties.
  • Create a safe, supportive, and stimulating classroom environment where students feel valued and motivated to learn.
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs), adapting teaching strategies to suit each student’s unique learning needs.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, building their confidence, social skills, and emotional resilience.
  • Work closely with support staff, SENCO, and parents to ensure a holistic approach to student development and progress.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on students' progress, celebrating successes and identifying areas for additional support.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in teaching students with SEN or SEMH needs.
  • However, unqualified teachers with relevant experience are welcome to apply.
  • A nurturing, patient, and empathetic approach to teaching.
  • Excellent behaviour management skills, with the ability to create a calm and supportive learning environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, parents, and external professionals.
  • A passion for supporting students in their academic and personal growth, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their potential.
