Job Title: Teaching AssistantPay Rate: £85 per dayLocation: West BromwichHours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Smart Education is currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in an alternative provision setting. This school provides education for students aged 11-16 who have been permanently excluded or are at risk of exclusion. Many students face barriers to learning, including low confidence, gaps in education, and challenging behaviour.

- Experience supporting children with SEMH, ASC, ADHD, and challenging behaviour
- Ability to de-escalate situations and support students in making positive choices
- Experience providing 1:1 support and working with non-verbal students
- Knowledge of Makaton or other alternative communication methods (preferred)
- Strong behaviour management skills and a nurturing approach
- Commitment to helping students build resilience and confidence in their learning
