Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 DOE
Location: West Bromwich
Mainstay Recruitment are currently recruiting for a supervisor/team leader for our client based in West Bromwich. This will be working within a waste environment and the ideal candidate will have experience within this industry.
Duties of the role include:
- Maintain and deliver the highest standards of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality performance across all activities and facilities every day.
- Manage a team of 4 and ensure all Company Handbook protocol is adhered to such as time keeping.
- Drive operational efficiency and excellence.
- Control volumes in and out including bulk TFS materials to AVR (oily rags)
- List waste to be sent to landfill and treatment from bulk transfer station ensuring we conform to legislation and disposal site regulations and requirements.
- Ensure all loads are inspected and checked against QC with a chemist prior to processing
- Be accountable for maintenance and upkeep of equipment.
- Be accountable for maintenance and upkeep of Bulk transfer station including drainage and concrete upkeep.
- Liaise with Site Manager & Senior Ops Mgr. with regards staff training and performance management
- Organising and Checking waste from dispatch and skips and making sure non compatible waste is taken out and Non-Conformed.
- Ensure the Machine Check sheets are filled out correctly and any damage reported.
- Ensure the efficient and professional standards of the site. This includes ensuring the yard is kept clean and maintained.
- Ensure that all PPE requirements for staff are met and that the appropriate PPE is being used by the staff in daily processes.
- Hold daily morning meetings with the bulk operatives to set out the days tasks and requirements.
- Ensure the H&S procedures are always met.
- Provide cover for the Site Manager when off.
- Experience within the waste/recycling industry is essential for this role.
- Experience managing small teams would be advantageous
- Telehandler licence is desirable, but not essential
- 360 licence is desirable but not essential.
