Quality Manager - West Bromwich - Chemicals sector

Our client is looking for a talented Quality Manager to head up their team at their site in West Bromwich.

We are looking for an experienced Quality manager who can head up a team, lead the QC function who has come from the chemicals sector, but if you have good experience in the manufacturing sector and feel this might be a really good fit for you, then by all means get in touch because they'd be happy to hear from you!

Nature & Scope

  • Leadership of the Quality function
  • Overall management of the QC function and testing laboratory / systems.
  • Maintains and develops the Quality Management Systems (including GMP where applicable)
  • Develop, implement and maintain the QMS as part of an integrated management system to deliver Q,E, H&S regulatory and operational compliance
  • Monitor and improve the effectiveness of the system via an internal audit system
  • Monitor overall corporate quality performance against corporate targets and alignment with customer expectations
  • Provide leadership in GMP systems development, operation and integration into the ISO 9001 QMS
  • Responsible for release of raw materials, intermediates and final products
  • Develops and implements departmental training
  • Provides technical support on analytical and Quality issues
  • Provides leadership for Quality activities
  • Responsible forapproval of deviation investigations, change controls, validation activities and analytical out of specifications investigations
  • Customer communication on Quality matters
  • Process direction authorisation for QC/QA requirements
  • Releases manufacturing equipment for use in Production
  • Must observe and maintain relevant Health, Safety, Environment, Quality and GMP (where applicable) procedures and standards at all times.
  • To work closely with other members of the team to ensure that agreed Quality Department programmes are completed on time whilst meeting the standards of GMP (where applicable), Quality and Health & Safety.
  • Contribute and lead continuous improvement initiatives

  • Equipment release to Production
  • Final arbiter of material quality
  • Calibration scheduled in QC Laboratories are complied with
  • Departmental budget control
  • Personnel training and development
  • Determination of salary levels of subordinates
  • Recruitment, selection and dismissal
  • Maintain QC Laboratories in a clean, orderly and safe state
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping in all work areas that are visited and operated in.
