H9 are looking to recruit a Shift Team Leader for our exclusive client, who are soon to be unveiling their latest state-of-the-art energy from waste plant in West Bromwich, West Midlands.
This will be a site-based role, with an excellent salary and benefits package on offer for the right candidate.
What is the role?
As part of the pioneering team at our new Energy from Waste site, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient day-to-day operation of the plant. You’ll lead the shift operations team, managing and supervising the plant to uphold the highest standards in health & safety, environmental care, and operational excellence. You'll help shape the future of the plant, driving performance while making safety the top priority in everything we do.
What you will be doing
In this exciting role, you'll have the opportunity to:
- Train and mentor, your team in safety protocols, plant operations, and environmental compliance, helping them thrive in a high-performance environment.
- Lead by example, developing a strong team through performance appraisals, talent identification, and structured training programs. You'll be instrumental in succession planning and team motivation.
- Oversee the safe and efficient operation of the facility, maintaining high housekeeping standards and ensuring everything runs smoothly during your shifts.
- Foster a culture of teamwork across all plant staff, creating a unified effort towards operational success.
- Be a safety champion, ensuring that the wellbeing of our people and the environment is at the core of everything we do.
What do you need?
- HND/HNC in Engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to motivate, coach, and lead a team.
- Analytical, problem-solving mindset with the ability to tackle engineering challenges in a practical and effective manner.
- A team player who treats colleagues with respect and works with integrity and professionalism.

Salary:
£56,700- £63,600
