Shift Pattern:               39hr per week (7:30AM - 16:30PM , Monday to Thursday; 7:30AM to 12:30PM on Fridays)

We are supporting our client who is a specialist in automotive manufacturing, based in West Bromwich, in their search for new talent. They are now looking for a Technical Process Engineer to make an impact - a new role they are opening as part of their plan to grow the team. This position would suit a young engineer having completed an apprenticeship; someone who wants a challenge and to progress.

Position Overview: As the Technical Process Engineer, you will support the production processes around the business by increasing the OEE. The role is a technical position and will involve supporting production in carrying out TPM checks and maintenance tasks on key kit and design/manufacture of Poke Yoke systems/ camera checking systems, and weld fixtures.

Responsibilities for Technical Process Engineer:

  • To support production in solving problems / breakdowns in a professional manor to ensure production is back up and running as soon as possible.
  • Responsible for the upkeep of the machines in the areas you are working in; reporting any issues to the Process Engineering Manager as soon as they occur.
  • Ensure all Maintain X job requests are completed on time that are allocated to your team.
  • To improve OEE on current processes around the business.
  • Provide the new project department with support on the introduction of new business, including ensuring that you support the Gateway project system, and the program need dates are achieved
  • To ensure that any Health & Safety hazards are identified and reported; ensuring you adhere strictly to the company's Health and Safety, environmental and quality policies and procedures (and ensuring adherence from others in your department).
  • To be prepared to help with maintenance when asked to do so by the team /leader in that area, or by the Engineering Manager.
  • Communicating with people inside and outside of the organisation in the most efficient manor to ensure accurate provision of information.
  • To perform any tasks within the scope and abilities of the function other than those listed above.  The Engineering Manager / other members of staff may provide these verbally or in writing, such as expectation or improvement requests.
  • Undertaking the training of any apprentice / improver that is put in your care.
  • To manufacture weld fixture and Poke Yoke systems.

About You:

  • Lean manufacturing
  • PLC knowledge (Omron and Mitsubishi)
  • Knowledge of Vision systems.
  • Knowledge of Pneumatics
  • NVQ in Electrical Engineering
  • NVQ in Mechanical Engineering
  • Knowledge of Robot Co2 and spot welding would be an advantage, but training would be given.
  • Knowledge of manual machine technics.
