Responsibilities of a Business development manager :

  • Continuously seek opportunities to enhance the customer experience while introducing current and potential customers to the full range of company products and services.
  • You must establish strong relationships with both new and existing customers, demonstrating a proven ability to drive sales growth.
  • Assist the sales team by generating quotes, scheduling appointments, arranging samples, and fostering both existing and new business.
  • Participate in company sales events.
  • Conduct cold calls to potential customers (using the ACT database or other resources) to identify new business opportunities.
  • Engage in cross-selling and upselling of products.
  • Make monthly retention calls, focusing on accounts with zero spending or significant declines, and update the in-house CRM system accordingly.
  • Maintain the CRM by documenting all call activities, with an emphasis on capturing customer data.
  • Conduct regular market research related to competitors or products with sales managers, proactively suggesting follow-up promotions.
  • Process orders when the administrative department is busy or during staff holidays.
  • Oversee and manage customer accounts effectively.
  • Manage your accounts to drive growth in your designated area.
