Are you passionate about supporting young people who face challenges in mainstream education? We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join an Alternative Provision in West Drayton, working with pupils aged 11-16 who are unable to attend mainstream school for a variety of reasons, including those at risk of permanent exclusion.

Role Overview:

We are looking for an LSA with a specialism in English or PSHE to support students in their learning journey. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in helping students engage with their education and develop essential life skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the planning and delivery of lessons by assisting teachers with preparing resources and materials.
  • Provide targeted support to individuals or small groups to help them achieve their learning goals.
  • Collaborate with teachers and fellow LSAs to develop effective strategies for student engagement and progress.
  • Actively participate in team meetings, contributing to discussions on student progress, interventions, and classroom strategies.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with challenging behaviour and students with SEMH or SEN needs is desirable.
  • A strong understanding of behaviour management strategies.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and encourage their engagement in learning.
