An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and analytical individual to join a dynamic Energy Division as an Energy Market and Trading Analyst.This vital role supports energy procurement operations by delivering sharp market insights and executing informed trading strategies that directly impact energy performance for clients.What you’ll be doing:
  • Analysing and reporting on UK and European energy markets, identifying key trends affecting commodity prices.
  • Creating engaging market briefings, reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Supporting gas and power trading activities by maintaining accurate trade records and confirmations.
  • Developing trading benchmark tools and methodologies to evaluate performance.
  • Forecasting forward commodity prices and providing financial models to support risk strategy decisions.
  • Collaborating with suppliers, customers, and internal teams to deliver high-value trading insight.
  • Chairing weekly market meetings and contributing to the execution of trades aligned with strategy.
What we’re looking for:
  • A degree (or equivalent) in a related field such as Economics, Maths, or Business.
  • Experience in energy markets or wholesale trading environments.
  • A strong understanding of energy commodities like LNG, natural gas, renewables, and carbon.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, VBA, and other Microsoft Office tools.
  • Confident communicator with strong numeracy, data interpretation, and presentation skills.
  • A proactive, curious thinker who’s passionate about energy markets and thrives in a fast-paced team environment.
