Grafton Banks Finance are assisting a large Kings Hill, Kent based business with the recruitment of a Tax Manager. The role requires a fully qualified CTA Tax professional, either from practice looking to move into industry or someone working in a similar role already in a business. The role is varied and includes VAT, Corporation Tax and Personal. Reporting into the head of group finance you will take responsibility for:

VAT

  • Review month end VAT postings and reconciliations.
  • Review quarterly VAT return workings and submit returns.
  • Lead on VAT restructure project.
  • Advise the business on VAT treatment of items e.g. development projects.

Corporation tax

  • Review of annual tax pack information to go to external tax advisors.
  • Responsible for quarterly instalment payment workings.
  • iXBRL tagging of financial statements for group.
  • Responsible for tax and deferred tax postings and disclose in financial statements.
  • Finalisation of yearend tax returns.
  • Ownership of transfer pricing arrangements.
  • Review expenditure to identify any potential R&D projects and lead on any claims.

Employment taxes & other

  • Review share options and dividends monthly reports and reconciliations. Prepare year end share options reports and returns.
  • PSA compliance.
  • Tax advice on Long Term Incentive Schemes.
  • Provide training on tax issues to the wider finance team.
  • Be the main point of contact for HMRC enquiries.
  • Assist with gathering tax information.
  • Keeping updated on changes to tax legislation and advising accordingly.
  • Assist treasury department with payments approvals where needed.
  • Responsible for tax risk registers.
  • Tax due diligence on new acquisitions.
  • Form relationships with external tax advisors and the parent company tax team.
  • Monitor HMRC online accounts.
  • Assist with other ad hoc projects e.g. lease work, group simplification, statutory accounts preparation.
