Role - Estimator
Location: West Malling, Kent (Hybrid)
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Estimator to join a motivated team. The ideal candidate will be located in Kent, East Sussex, or London, within a commutable distance to our office in Wrotham Heath, Kent. This role is perfect for someone with experience in asphalt surfacing, highway civil infrastructure, and S278/S38 projects, who is looking to contribute their expertise to a dynamic and growing company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Estimation: Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for asphalt surfacing, highway civil/infrastructure projects, and S278/S38 schemes.
- Cost Analysis: Analyse project costs, including materials, labour, and equipment, to ensure accurate and competitive bids.
- Tender Preparation: Assist in the preparation and submission of tenders, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.
- Client Liaison: Work closely with clients, contractors, and suppliers to gather the necessary information and clarify project requirements.
- Collaboration: Work alongside project managers and other stakeholders to ensure estimates are aligned with project goals and budgets.
- Market Analysis: Keep abreast of industry trends, costs, and materials to provide the most up-to-date and competitive estimates.
- Site Visits: Conduct site visits to assess project scope, conditions, and potential challenges to inform the estimation process.
Requirements:
- Experience: Proven experience as an Estimator in asphalt surfacing, highway civil infrastructure, and S278/S38 projects.
- Location: Must be based in Kent, East Sussex, or London, with the ability to commute to our office in Wrotham Heath, Kent.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and industry standards.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Flexibility: Ability to work in a hybrid model, with a presence in the office 3-4 days a week.
- Software Proficiency: Familiarity with estimation software and tools, as well as standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
