About the Role:
Career Teachers is seeking dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Teaching Assistants to join our team in a Special Educational Needs (SEN) school located in North Leeds. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children with special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support to students with a range of special educational needs, including autism, learning disabilities, and physical impairments.
- Assist the class teacher in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and support students in achieving their learning goals.
- Foster a safe and supportive classroom atmosphere.
- Help with personal care tasks as needed.
- Encourage social interaction and support the emotional well-being of students.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is highly desirable.
- A patient, caring, and empathetic nature.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Relevant qualifications or training in special education is a plus.
