GSL Education are seeking a committed and caring Primary School Teaching Assistant to join primary schools in Weymouth.
As a Primary School Teaching Assistant (Primary TA), your role will involve working closely with class teachers to support the academic, social, and emotional development of pupils. Whether you are an experienced TA or new to the field, this role offers a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in young lives.
Primary TA Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
- Support pupils in small groups or on a one-to-one basis, focusing on their individual needs.
- Help create a positive and supportive classroom environment.
- Promote good behaviour and encourage positive social interactions among students.
- Assist with the preparation of learning materials and classroom resources.
- Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to the class teacher.
- Support children with varying abilities to access the curriculum effectively.
- Participate in school activities and contribute to the overall development of pupils.
Primary School Teaching Assistant Qualification:
- A relevant qualification such as CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Teaching Assistance, or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting is desirable.
- A degree in Education, psychology or a similar field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, nurturing, and positive attitude towards supporting children.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.

- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last two years.
- Possess an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
