Job Title: Temporary Team Manager (Children's Social Care)
Location: Dorset
Pay Rate: £45 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract Type: Temporary (Full-time)
About the Role: Our agency is seeking a Temporary Team Manager to work with Dorset Council's Children's Social Care team. In this role, you will lead and manage a team of social workers and professionals, delivering key statutory services to safeguard and support children, young people, and families. This is a great opportunity to make an immediate impact while earning a competitive hourly rate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of social workers, ensuring the delivery of statutory social care services.
- Provide expert advice on safeguarding, child protection, and related matters.
- Deputise for the Operational Manager as required.
- Oversee staff training, development, and performance management.
- Utilize performance data to drive improvements in service delivery.
- Manage the team's budget efficiently and ensure resources are allocated appropriately.
- Work closely with partner agencies to improve outcomes for children.
- Handle complex court proceedings and case audits.
- Support recruitment, induction, and ongoing staff development.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Diploma in Social Work (CQSW) or equivalent, with ongoing professional development.
- Minimum 4 years' post-qualification experience as a social worker.
- HCPC registration is essential.
- Extensive experience in child protection, complex case management, and court proceedings.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Essential Requirements:
- Flexibility to travel across Dorset.
- Ability to work outside standard office hours as needed.
- In-depth knowledge of statutory legislation and safeguarding procedures.
