About the Role: Our agency is seeking a Temporary Team Manager to work with Dorset Council's Children's Social Care team. In this role, you will lead and manage a team of social workers and professionals, delivering key statutory services to safeguard and support children, young people, and families. This is a great opportunity to make an immediate impact while earning a competitive hourly rate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of social workers, ensuring the delivery of statutory social care services.
  • Provide expert advice on safeguarding, child protection, and related matters.
  • Deputise for the Operational Manager as required.
  • Oversee staff training, development, and performance management.
  • Utilize performance data to drive improvements in service delivery.
  • Manage the team's budget efficiently and ensure resources are allocated appropriately.
  • Work closely with partner agencies to improve outcomes for children.
  • Handle complex court proceedings and case audits.
  • Support recruitment, induction, and ongoing staff development.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Diploma in Social Work (CQSW) or equivalent, with ongoing professional development.
  • Minimum 4 years' post-qualification experience as a social worker.
  • HCPC registration is essential.
  • Extensive experience in child protection, complex case management, and court proceedings.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Essential Requirements:

  • Flexibility to travel across Dorset.
  • Ability to work outside standard office hours as needed.
  • In-depth knowledge of statutory legislation and safeguarding procedures.
