We are recruiting for a Vehicle Test Technician (Navigation & Connected Car) for one of our automotive clients based in Cranfield. You will be working for a globally recognised automotive company. This is a long-term contract role. The contract is on an ongoing basis a may run for several years.

Key Responsibilities of the Vehicle Test Technician (Navigation & Connected Car):

• Automotive electrical and electronic test relating to HMI (Human Machine Interface), Navigation / Infotainment systems / Telematics and mobile phone applications.
• Working to a project schedule to complete test activities in a timely manner.
• Execute test cases aligned to defined scenarios both statically and dynamically.
• Analyse test results and report on the quality of the software. This includes identifying and reporting on defects, tracking the status of defects, and communicating with stakeholders about the quality of the software.
• Basic vehicle disassembly to access key components within the vehicle.
• Use of vehicle diagnostic tools
• Preparation / maintenance of vehicles or components for test in line with local procedures and Nissan Engineering Manuals.
• Support Testing in static and dynamic conditions to gather accurate, timely, and quality test data/results.
• Support Evaluation and concern identification including liaison with Test Engineer.
• Support delivery of Key Performance Indicators for the section
• Use skills to provide support to other sections as required


Qualifications & Experience for the Vehicle Test Technician (Navigation & Connected Car):

• C&G / BTEC L3 would be preferable, ideally in mechanical, Electrical or automotive engineering with a recognised apprenticeship or qualification within a relevant field.
• A working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint for report writing & presentation preparation
• Excellent organisational skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Be able to manage and prioritise their work
• Strong communication skills
• Interest in latest smartphones and applications
• Understanding of vehicle diagnostic tools
• Vehicle system knowledge with the ability to fault find
