Key Responsibilities as an Engineering Teacher:

  • Engaging Teaching: Plan and deliver outstanding lessons in Engineering across Key Stages, fostering curiosity and innovation.
  • Skill Development: Teach students a range of technical and practical skills, preparing them for future careers in engineering and STEM fields.
  • Curriculum Design: Implement a rich and engaging curriculum that integrates theoretical and practical learning, aligned with national standards.
  • Student Progress: Track and monitor student development, providing constructive feedback to enable growth and success.
  • Promote Interest in STEM: Encourage student participation in engineering-related extracurricular activities, competitions, and projects.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside colleagues to promote STEM subjects across the school.

Essential Requirements for Engineering Teacher:

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status): Or relevant qualifications in teaching Engineering or similar subjects.
  • Subject Expertise: Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, with experience teaching the subject at secondary school level.
  • Practical Skills: Ability to teach practical elements of engineering safely and effectively in workshops or labs.
  • Adaptability: Skills to cater to a variety of student needs and learning styles.
  • Commitment to Safeguarding: Dedication to ensuring the safety and well-being of all students, adhering to school and statutory guidelines.
  • Enhanced DBS: Hold an enhanced child workforce DBS registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one.
