Position Overview:

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with challenging behaviour resulting from additional needs. You will support pupils displaying challenging behaviour and a range of complex, profound and multiple educational and medical needs, providing assistance and guidance to ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • As teaching assistant, work collaboratively with teaching staff to implement tailored strategies for students with a range of special needs who demonstrate challenging behaviour.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support as required

Requirements:

  • Ideally you will have previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, particularly within special education settings.
  • Alternatively, candidates with transferable skills from a care setting are also highly sought after
  • Understanding and empathy for pupils with autism and other additional learning and behavioural difficulties.
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour effectively.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic educational environment.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Teaching Assistant qualification, CACHE Level 2, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks.
  • CV must cover full employment and education/ training history where possible.
  • Legal right to work in the UK.

Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm

Daily Rate of Pay: From £85 - £101 per day, experience/ qualifications dependant

Start Date: From September 2024 onwards
