Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a ER Advisor based in West Cumbria on a permeant basis.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced ER Advisor to join our People Team at Sellafield, this role will be pivotal in shaping the employee experience. By acting as a trusted partner, coach and expert to our management team, you will work collaboratively to resolve challenges, lead on people initiatives and ensure compliance with out policies, procedures, national agreements and employment law. As a unionised organisation, you will also be a key stakeholder to our Trade Union representatives.
Key Responsibilities


  • Provide expert advice and guidance to managers and employees on a wide range of employee relations issues, including absence management, disciplinary actions, grievances, and conflict resolution.

  • Partner with key stakeholders to continuously improve employee engagement and experience

  • Lead on all employee relation activity for our Sellafield operations, escalating to the People Business Partner when appropriate

  • Ensure our Industrial Relations strategy is integrated and attend weekly, monthly and quarterly Trade Union engagement meetings

  • Ensure employee e-files are updated, maintained and accurate at all times, with the support of the HR Administrator

  • Collate data from systems and local sources to provide first line analysis on trends and support in proactively mitigating future risks to the business

  • Keep up to date with employment law, legislation and NAECI agreement to apply the correct knowledge in the workplace

  • Liaise with the Occupational Health department and providers where appropriate for pre-planned, routine and ad-hoc medical reviews

  • Support the Social Impact Team, early careers and training department initiatives

  • Collaborate with the central People team to support on initiatives and lead on the integration of projects alongside the HR Business Partner for Sellafield Operations

  • Keep regular communications across the site teams, sharing updates and necessary information via multiple channels of communication to suit a diverse workforce

  • Support the wider HR team with Redundancy and TUPE exercises

  • Ensure appropriate information is cascaded to relevant managers without
    compromising confidentiality and in line with GDPR

* CIPD Level 5 or relevant experience


  • Previous Employee Relations management

  • Trade Union engagement

  • NAECI and Sellafield knowledge is advantageous
    Requirements of role:

  • Ability to gain P4 Security Pass

  • Previous NAECI experience is advantageous but not essential
