Apricus Resourcing are working with a leading charity who are looking for a Drug and Alcohol Recovery Worker, within your role you will be contributing to the transformation of lives within a leading charitable organisation in Whitley Bay, Newcastle.

As a dedicated Recovery Worker, you will be at the forefront of providing compassionate care and structured support to individuals striving to overcome addiction. Your role is pivotal in creating a safe and nurturing environment, enabling service users to regain control of their lives and embark on a path to recovery. The working hours for this role are Mon-Fri 9-5 dependant on what your preference is.

The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of the challenges faced by those affected by substance misuse. A background in health or social care, coupled with experience in a similar role, will be essential in delivering effective support plans tailored to individual needs. Excellent communication skills are paramount, as building trust and rapport with service users is critical to their rehabilitation journey.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting assessments to identify service users' needs and goals.
  • Developing and implementing personalised recovery plans.
  • Facilitating group sessions and one-to-one support.
  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals and external agencies.
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential records.
  • Covering front of house taking referrals,
  • Creating patient records and booking assessments.
  • Completing assessments with clients face to face,
  • Complete care plans risk assessments

Candidates must demonstrate:

  • Experience in substance misuse or related field.
  • A non-judgmental and empathetic approach.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
