Our client, a leading manufacturer based in East Kent, is looking for a new CNC Operator to join their expanding and successful team. As the successful candidate, you will set and operate CNC multi-tasking lathes to manufacture components from raw materials.

Key Responsibilities for the role of CNC Setter/Operator

  • Setting and operating CNC multi-tasking lathes
  • Inspecting work produced using measuring equipment to Engineer drawings and reporting any quality defects to supervision
  • Daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance checks on machines, including maintaining good housekeeping standards and reporting any issues promptly to supervision
  • Optimising efficiencies through reduced set-up and cycle times, plus tool life monitoring
  • Deburring, cleaning, final inspection, and completion of all traceability documentation

Person specifications for the role of CNC/Setter role

  • Must be educated to GCSE or equivalent in Maths & English grade C or higher
  • Practical, hands-on experience setting and operating CNC lathes, within a minimum of 4 axis
  • Previous experience in cycle time reduction, tool management and optimisation
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently and with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines would be extremely useful
  • Experience in reading Fanuc-based programs would be required for this role
  • Ability to read and comprehend engineering drawings is essential to the role
  • Must have a good housekeeping ideology & good H&S standard
