PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Fabricator Welder.

Will be required to have a full knowledge of the fabricating and welding process from start to finish and must be competent in all areas.

Must have previous experience of manufacturing structural steel and architectural metalwork, finishing to a very high standard, both inside the shop and occasionally in site environments.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Welding and fabrication of various metal components and assemblies which include structural and architectural steelwork (handrails, balustrading, staircases etc.).
  • Fabricate without supervision to instructions or drawings
  • Have a knowledge of metals, grades and thickness
  • Cutting using torch and plasma
  • Setting and operation of machinery e.g. Saw, brake press, guillotine etc.
  • Welding on steel, iron and other heavy gauge materials using MIG and Stick techniques
  • Welding of stainless steel and aluminum using MIG and TIG
  • Marking and setting out of work
  • Limited Day to day contact with customers
  • Fork truck license would be desirable
  • Driving License essential
