Our client, an established and highly respected provider of residential childcare, is seeking a Deputy Manager for their 4-bed EBD home in Widmerpool. This is an exciting opportunity for someone aspiring to move into a Registered Manager role, with a new home set to open in Grantham within the next 6–12 months.

  About the Role:

As Deputy Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day running of the home, providing care for two young people currently in residence and helping to drive the home towards excellence. You will also have a genuine pathway to Registered Management as the organisation expands its portfolio.

  Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Support:

    • Assist the Registered Manager in leading, motivating, and developing the team.
    • Provide guidance and mentoring to staff, ensuring high standards of care and professionalism.
  • Care Delivery:

    • Oversee the care and support of young people, tailoring plans to meet their needs and aspirations.
    • Foster a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment where young people can thrive.
  • Compliance & Quality Assurance:

    • Ensure the home complies with Ofsted and other regulatory requirements.
    • Contribute to monitoring, auditing, and improvement plans for the service.
  • Operational Support:

    • Help manage staffing, rotas, and resources to ensure the smooth running of the home.
    • Step up to manage the home in the Registered Manager’s absence.
  • Development Opportunities:

    • Prepare for future leadership by gaining experience and insight into the management of a new service.
    • Play a key role in the setup and operation of the new Grantham home.
  Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Deputy Manager or Senior Support Worker in a residential childcare setting.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent); Level 5 in Leadership and Management is desirable or willingness to work towards it.
  • Strong understanding of EBD and safeguarding principles.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • A genuine ambition to progress to Registered Manager within 6–12 months.
