CLASS 1 CONTAINER DRIVER

AM SHIFT: MONDAY - FRIDAY - 07:00 STARTS

PM SHIFT: MONDAY - FRIDAY - 18:00 STARTS

£16.00 - £17.00 PER HOUR

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Class 1 Container Driver to join our well-established client based in the Widnes area.

Rates of Pay

  • Days £16.00 per hour
  • Lates £17.00 per hour

Day to Day Duties

Your duties as a Class 1 Container Driver will involve but not be limited to:

  • Safely transport containers to and from ports, terminals, and other locations.
  • Perform routine checks on the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition and complies with safety standards.
  • Assist with loading and unloading containers when required, ensuring proper securing of the cargo.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to all relevant traffic laws, company policies, and safety procedures to ensure smooth and safe operations.
  • Follow scheduled routes, making adjustments as necessary for traffic, roadworks, or delays.
  • Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients, ensuring clear communication and professionalism at all times.
  • Maintain a clean and organised vehicle, ensuring it meets company standards for safety and presentation.
  • Keep accurate records of driving times, rest periods, and fuel usage in compliance with tachograph regulations.

Essential Skills

As a Class 1 Container Driver you will need to:

  • Hold a valid UK Category CE Licence
  • Have a minimum of twelve months experience driving CE vehicles
  • Have a minimum of six months experience working on containers.
  • No more than six penalty points for minor infringements and no major endorsement codes
  • Have a valid UK CPC Card & UK Digi Card
  • Must be able to speak and read a good level of English
  • Punctuality and excellent time keeping skills
  • Have a good understanding of traffic laws and regulations
  • Effective communication skills

Desirable Experience

  • Experience driving any commercial vehicles would be beneficial
  • Previous experience driving containers will be beneficial

Training:

  • Industry related training and ongoing support throughout
