I am currently recruiting for a Financial Controller / Company Accountant on an exclusive basis for my client based in Wigan.Having been established for over 40 years, my client is a leading independent company in their field, they have an excellent reputation in the area and a low turnover of staff, so this is an excellent opportunity to join them.Job description: 37.5 hours per week over 4-5 days (with some flexibility)22 days holiday plus bank holidaysYear end - MarchCompany T/O £3 millJob type PermanentQualifications:

  • Bookkeeping (2 years)
  • AAT Level 4 or equivalent (required)
  • Computerised Accounting systems (2 years)

Duties of Financial Controller will include:

  • Dily bank reconciliations
  • Processing the company Sales and Purchase Ledger
  • Credit Control
  • Processing and issuing supplier payments (foreign currency transactions)
  • Expense payments/reconciliations
  • Producing a full set of Monthly Management Accounts for a £2 mill t/o company.
  • Preparing the Accruals and prepayments
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Cash flow forecasting
  • Payroll Preparation (monthly) - processed externally
  • End of year processes (Accounts & Payroll)
  • VAT/EC Sales lists processing
  • Various analysis work.

Skills & Experience:

  • Highly organised and capable of performing tasks to a very high standard, whilst maintaining excellent levels of accuracy
  • Experience in organising own workload efficiently and able to multi task.
  • Good communication skills
  • Experience of producing a full set of management accounts for a SME.
