I am currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant for my client's group commercial operations in the UK. The role is based in Ashton in Makerfield and offers a 35-hour working week, free parking and the flexibility of hybrid working. Our client has a great reputation and low staff turnover, they have purpose-built offices and excellent working conditions.
The company earns revenue either from cash or from contactless income.
CASH - Cash is collected on site and brought to the head office for allocation
CONTACTLESS - contactless data is collected & imported from the external merchant
Duties include:
- CASH
- Prepare and identify cash received to the correct account/site.
- Import cash batches from UK and Eire to allocate the cash counted to the correct account/site
- Allocate the cash and produce reports for failed allocations
- Use the report to investigate and resolve unallocated cash
- Post cash batches to the system and print error reports
- Investigate and resolve unposted cash on the error report
- Investigate expected income v actual income
- File storage boxes & cash bags for archiving
- Employ outgoing & incoming calls with field engineers
- CONTACTLESS
- Process data from external merchants' portal & download
- Check and reformat the downloaded Excel files so that it is acceptable for import
- Investigate cashless income imported that will not allocate. Repair. Allocate
- Post the contactless income to the correct account/site
- Liaise with the technical department to discuss queries & resolution
- Monitor the auto refunds inbox if and when required. Investigate & refund. Direct contact with the end user if required by email or by telephone.
- Ad-hoc additional work and filing as required. This may be for self-initiated work or otherwise.
Required skills
- A proven ability to investigate complex & challenging queries
- Excellent Excel skills are critical
- Attention to detail, mathematical competence and general accuracy of work are all important skills and, in particular, the ability to think for oneself.
- The ability to work as part of a team
