Are you an Environmental Specialist looking to work in a well-established award-winning internationally operating manufacturing company in Standish? Due to growth the company is now expanding their team. Your main function is ensuring compliance with government and legal regulations through policy enforcement or adherence to legal guidelines and contribute to the effectiveness of the EHS Department. You will be rewarded with an employer that are Investors in staff training, current technology, offering a good work to life balance. Hours are 35 per week, Monday to Friday 8.00 am to 4.00 pm or 9.00 am to 5.00 pm which is flexible, with a salary of £40,000

Quality Manager Duties:

  • To contribute to the executive decision-making processes to ensure a commitment to achieve progressively higher standards within the company.
  • To promote a positive climate in which the EHS department is seen by management, employees, neighbours, customers, and other off-site agencies as being fundamental to the company’s day to day operations.
  • Manage environmental management program and the environmental management system.
  • Provide guidance and support on environmental legislation and internal environmental standards Manage waste minimisation plan for both sites.
  • Responsible for developing the environmental strategy and environmental performance · Champion environmental improvements via the Asset plan and CapEx programs.
  • Manage the site environmental permit and prepare any correspondence to the regulator or applications for variations that may be required and reporting of any permit breaches.
  • Undertake regular monitoring and compliance, environmental risk assessments including source-pathway-receptor trio assessment as per CDOIF methodology.
  • Responsible for ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, surveillance audits and recertification audits.
  • Lead auditor and contributor to the site wide process and management system audit plan, including 45001 and 9001.
  • Participate in Product Life Cycle Assessment, Internal improvements on 12 principles of green chemistry, Ecovardis review and assessment, assist with Sustainable Development Goals .
  • Manage site Aspects and Impacts Register .

Environmental Specialist Requirements:

  • Required experience in the Oil, Gas, Chemical or Petrochemical Industry is essential
  • Must hold a degree in environmental management or chemical engineering
  • The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of key environmental legislation.
  • Auditor experience in ISO4001 & 50001 Energy Management is essential for this role.
  • Required a good understanding QMS and ISO 9001:2015
  • Ability to complete root cause analysis and contribute to investigations.
  • You will be an advocate for improvement and change across all its functions and at all levels.
  • Ensuring that policies, programme systems, procedures and registrations are developed and maintained to meet company and regulatory environmental assurance requirements.
  • IT literate in Microsoft Office Packages Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Possess strong communication both written and verbal, able to build relationships, understanding of working in fast paced environments with the ability to prioritise and adapt to change, whilst able to understand process or continuous improvement.
  • Model and promote an organisational culture that fosters safety through effective leadership.
  • Team player, hands on approach with a positive attitude to learning and can work collaboratively.
