Milk Education are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant for a Primary School in Hindley Green (WN2) to work on a long-term basis starting September 2024- December 2024. This is a school, who prides itself on being nurturing and caring, with high standards of attainment and behaviour.

This Teaching Assistant job will involve working one to one with children with SEN and supporting the class teachers with the day to day running of the classroom. This job is full-time and the working hours will be 08:30am- 15:30pm Monday to Friday, with a 30 minute lunch break.

Teaching Assistant one to one - Role & Responsibilities:

  • Promote inclusion and acceptance of all children
  • Support children consistently whilst responding to their individual needs
  • Work with the teacher in lesson planning, evaluating and adjusting lessons/plans as appropriate
  • Deliver catch-up sessions
  • This SEND Teaching Assistant role will involve keeping the child on task and ensuring that the work they are set is being done to a good standard.

Teaching Assistant Non-negotiables:

  • Recent experience (last 2 years) supporting children in either an education, social care, nursery, community/youth role, college/university placement or any volunteer roles.
  • Be able to display excellent verbal communication as well as the ability to actively listen.
  • Must have a passion for education
  • Must have the ability to work under the guidance of the teacher
  • Must be reliable and punctual
  • Two suitable references covering the last 2 years.

Preferable:

  • Level 2/Level 3 Qualification in Education or Social Care
