An amazing Ofsted-graded 'Outstanding' special needs school in Wigan are recruiting for Level 2 Teaching Assistants to start with them as soon as possible!!!

This large and popular school caters for pupils with a wide range of severe and complex learning difficulties from the age of 2 - 19, as well as a 19 - 25 provision catering for students with severe and complex medical needs.

As part of this full-time role, you will attend to pupils' significant personal needs, including moving and handling, personal care and postural management. The successful candidate will also provide advice to assist in their social, health and hygiene well-being, as well as:

  • Assisting with the implementation of individual education plans
  • Supporting pupils with their learning and personal care needs
  • Promoting independence and inclusion within the school community
  • Collaborating with the teaching team to create engaging and inclusive lessons
  • Monitoring and recording pupil progress

To join us and be successful in this role you will need to:

  • Experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs
  • Strong understanding of the individual needs associated with MLD, SLD, ASD, sensory impairments, and physical disabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's development.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Teaching Assistant qualification, CACHE Level 2, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks.
  • CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible.
  • Legal right to work in the UK.
