Reeson Education is recruiting a committed and versatile Teaching Assistant to join a warm and inclusive primary school in the WN2 area of Wigan. This Teaching Assistant role is to start as soon as possible on a full-time, long-term basis and involves supporting pupils with a variety of special educational needs (SEND) across different year groups.

The ideal Teaching Assistant will be proactive, flexible, and passionate about inclusive education. You'll work closely with teachers and other support staff to ensure all children-regardless of need-can access learning and feel supported in their school journey.

Key Responsibilities for the Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide in-class and 1:1 support for pupils with a range of SEND.

  • Work as a Teaching Assistant across year groups depending on daily need.

  • Support emotional regulation, sensory needs, and behaviour management.

  • Collaborate with staff and specialists to implement support strategies.

  • Encourage pupil confidence, communication, and independence.

  • Help create a calm, welcoming learning environment.

The Ideal Teaching Assistant Will:

  • Have experience supporting children with SEND (ASD, ADHD, SEMH, SLCN, etc.).

  • Be a reliable, nurturing, and patient Teaching Assistant.

  • Be adaptable and confident supporting across multiple age groups.

  • Be a team player who thrives in a collaborative environment.

  • Have a genuine passion for helping every child reach their potential.

Teaching Assistant Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply).

  • Right to work in the UK.

  • References covering the last 2-3 years.

  • A strong commitment to your role as a Teaching Assistant.
