Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

We are seeking a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our clients dynamic production team. This role is crucial for ensuring the 24-hour smooth operation of all production machinery and associated equipment, enabling the business to meet manufacturing KPIs and continuous improvement targets. Reporting to the Operations Manager and responsible for one direct report, this position is key in driving continuous improvements across operations through both planned preventative and reactive maintenance.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Rapid response to machine breakdowns, diagnosing and rectifying faults to reduce unplanned downtime and enhance machine reliability.
  • Developing and implementing an Engineering strategy that integrates minor engineering activities with manufacturing activities for better asset care and enhanced factory technical and operational expertise.
  • Creating and executing a planned maintenance management system.
  • Carrying out plant installations and process modifications to increase or improve output.
  • Supporting the production team daily, including attending morning meetings to discuss priorities.
  • Preparing, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring assigned engineering projects.
  • Providing reports on planned work and asset performance for monthly Business Review Meetings (BRM).
  • Daily supervision of one employee, ensuring effective team operations and development.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems and their maintenance.
  • Ability to rapidly diagnose and rectify faults in complex machinery.
  • Experience in developing and implementing maintenance strategies and systems.
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills, capable of managing and prioritising multiple tasks.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration across teams.
  • Technical qualification in Engineering is preferred.
