Job Overview:We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join the team at WWL NHS Trust. This role offers a dynamic opportunity to provide high-quality care and rehabilitation services to frail and elderly patients, working in a supportive and innovative healthcare environment.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and deliver effective rehabilitation interventions in an intermediate care setting.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, prioritizing patient independence and safety.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including nurses, social workers, and allied health professionals, to ensure holistic care.
- Manage a diverse caseload across community-based and inpatient services.
- Educate and support patients and families regarding treatment plans and rehabilitation goals.
- Contribute to the development and review of clinical protocols and best practices.
Requirements:
- Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy.
- HCPC Registration.
- Experience in intermediate care or rehabilitation settings.
- Ability to manage care for frail and elderly patients effectively.
- Strong community experience and a proactive approach to patient care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Skills:
- Strong clinical skills in assessing and treating various conditions.
- Proficiency in identifying and managing deteriorating patients.
- Ability to assess motor, sensory, and physical functioning, as well as cognitive and affective impairments.
- Capability to structure holistic assessments with clear clinical reasoning for patient care recommendations.
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
