Are you passionate about maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality? Our client, a leader in the food manufacturing industry, is seeking a Quality Coordinator to play a pivotal role in ensuring the excellence of their products and processes.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in food safety, quality systems, and compliance to join a dynamic team and make a real impact.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality & Food Safety Management:
Assist the Quality Manager in managing and improving food safety and quality systems, including BRC and ISO standards.
Develop, review, and enhance recording systems, process flows, and reporting tools.
Lead and support projects such as 5S and group-wide improvement initiatives.
Manage the site's food safety culture system, data analysis, and action plans.

Compliance & Auditing:
Conduct internal audits, traceability tests, and participate in recall exercises.
Prepare for and actively participate in audits, visits, and customer inspections.
Ensure compliance with all legal, industry, and company standards, including food safety, hygiene, and HR policies.
Cascade changes in legislation and industry standards, ensuring site compliance.

Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for quality and safety system improvements through trend analysis and shop-floor observations.
Lead and support investigations into non-conformities and customer complaints, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.

Communication & Training:
Provide clear communication between departments, supporting training activities and promoting food safety awareness.
Create and deliver engaging tools such as posters, games, and briefings to promote food safety and quality.

Teamwork & Leadership:
Work closely with Quality and Operations teams, deputising for the Quality Manager when required.
Cover product release duties during weekends and bank holidays on a rotational basis.

Skills and Competencies Required:

Essential:
Quality Auditing qualification and internal auditor training.
HACCP Level 3 and Food Safety Level 3 certifications.
Strong IT skills, including Office, Windows, Access, and coding/database creation.
Knowledge of quality and food safety standards (e.g., BRC, ISO).
Proven ability to analyse trends, solve problems, and make decisions.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage at all levels.
Attention to detail, highly organised, and capable of working on own initiative.

Desirable:
HND/Degree in Food Technology or relevant experience.
Experience in leading and motivating teams in a fast-paced environment.
Flexibility to work weekends, bank holidays, and outside regular hours when required.
