We are looking for inspirational tutors to support children and young people with SEND in Leicester. We support pupils with SEND who are not attending school for a number of reasons including Mental Health issues, or lack of a suitable school place. We aim to prepare them for their next steps whether it is a new school place, exams or adulthood.

We tutor pupils of all ages face-to-face within school times, and in a range of settings including homes, schools, community centres and out in the community. Our tuition is completely pupil-focused and can target developing early learning, following an academic curriculum, providing emotional support or developing life skills. We need a wide range of tutors to support our pupils to meet their specific needs and ensure good progress. We work very hard to match each tutor with pupils who can most benefit from their skills and expertise.

If you think this is not the right role for you, do still apply as we are always on the lookout for people with different expertise to work with our pupils in various locations.

About The Pupil

Our pupil is a 17 year old boy who has medical needs along with severe learning difficulties. He will need an ASD aware, functional and play based curriculum, as well as a tutor who is confident in using visual timetables and photographic sequences to support learning. Our pupil is currently developing the capacity to use one or more words together in simple phrases to express his wants, ideas, and needs. He will need an appropriately differentiated preparation for adulthood curriculum that focuses on practical skills such as taking turns, self-help and being safe as an adult. He loves music, games, writing, shapes and numbers.

We have been tutoring him in person when he was in London and has recently moved to Leicester. We would love to place someone amazing with him and the previous tutor will be more than happy to do a full handover to assist you in getting started.
