An opportunity for an experienced Area Sales Manager to join a specialist construction machinery dealership. The role contributes to the pivotal success of the group's capital equipment sales across the region. The role involves the development of capital equipment sales of the brand's product range, across all business sectors, within the designated sales territory.

Area Sales Manager Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a high visible presence in the marketplace, developing key relationships with current and prospective clients.
  • Create a territory plan to maximise our exposure in the marketplace.
  • Develop the customer base, ensuring that sectors such as waste, demolition, groundwork Civil engineering, Quarrying and the aggregate fraternity are targeted.
  • Grow market share on wheeled loaders, excavators, dozers and compaction equipment.
  • Ensure that the Total Cost of Ownership model is always at the forefront of discussions, in conjunction with their key selling features.
  • Develop relationships that deliver on their customer promise, ensuring long term partnerships.
  • Participate in industry trade shows or events to promote the product range.
  • Ensure that all paperwork required by the business or OEM is completed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that all quoting is logged in the CRM system to aid with forecasting.
  • Capture lost sales and competitive information to ensure that we understand the marketplace.
  • Manage the demonstration process.
  • Ensure that all trade in machines are inspected and HPI checks are complete prior to commercial terms being agreed.
  • Occasional international travel.
  • Ensure that all equipment is paid for prior to delivery.
  • Ensure that you offer after-market service options at point of sale.
  • Ensure that you offer financial solutions at point of sale.

Area Sales Manager Profile:

  • Proven experience as a Territory Manager/Area Sales Manager in capital equipment sales.
  • Ability to develop sales strategies.
  • Proven track record of developing sales and market share.
  • Excellent commercial acumen.
  • Excellent communication skills.
