Assistant Building Surveyor Job Overview:

  • Carrying out detailed measured surveys and preparing accurate CAD drawings
  • Conducting building surveys, inspections, condition schedules, and planned maintenance reports
  • Preparing drawings and liaising with local authorities for planning applications
  • Developing initial and detailed designs ensuring compliance with building regulations and guidance
  • Producing technical specifications, tender documents, and work schedules
  • Supporting contract administration duties, including contract preparation, cost monitoring, and issuing instructions
  • Managing tender processes, preparing tender analyses, and liaising with contractors
  • Participating in and chairing client and contractor meetings, preparing minutes, and managing actions
  • Monitoring construction works on-site, addressing technical issues, and liaising with contractors
  • Providing technical support to the property management team and handling smaller project tasks

Assistant Building Surveyor Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Building Surveying (RICS accredited)
  • Ideally 1-2 years post-graduate experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ambition to achieve MRICS status
  • Proactive approach and ability to manage tasks independently and collaboratively
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as necessary
