Description

The duties include:

  • Reporting to the Deputy Payroll Manager and Supervisor, in order to achieve the successful delivery of weekly and monthly payrolls.
  • Work cohesively with other team members to deliver all aspects of payroll processing and output.
  • Articulately and professionally respond to queries from internal and external stakeholders ensuring confidentially at all times.
  • Carry out and understand statutory calculations for maternity ,sickness and other associated absence and salary changes. Performing manual calculations where necessary and validate all data produced.
  • Support the delivery of any project work as defined by the Payroll Manager, working with the other Payroll Assistants to ensure that any ad-hoc requirements are completed within agreed deadlines.
  • Keep up to date and maintain current knowledge of external agencies' (e.g. HM Revenue and Customs; Department for Work and Pensions; various Company pension schemes) legislation and practices to ensure accurate recording of payroll data and monthly returns.
  • Ensure that the systems, policies, procedures and quality standards as followed at all times and highlighting any potential issues/risks within these processes. Challenge the current practices and assist in driving change within the business

Profile

The successful candidate MUST:

  • Have experience working in a similar payroll position - Essential
  • Be up to date with all UK Payroll legislation - Essential
  • Have excellent communication and organisation skills - Essential
  • Be able to work to strict deadlines - Essential
  • Be studying towards CIPP - Desirable
