I'm working with a fast growing Accouning Practice, that due to their ongoing success, have created a new opportunity for an experienced Senior Accountant to join their thriving accountancy practice.

This is a key position, offering the successful candidate the chance to work closely with owner-managed businesses across the South of England, upholding their commitment to delivering client-first service. They require a proactive and skilled individual with previous experience in a similar practice environment, providing a comprehensive range of accountancy services such as limited company accounts, bookkeeping, VAT, personal tax returns, and payroll.

  • Key Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for preparing full year-end accounts for a range of limited companies, sole traders and partnerships around the Southeast.
    • Preparation, review, and submission of company tax returns.
    • Preparation of management accounts, budgets, and financial forecasts.
    • Identifying potential issues during client assignments and escalating them as required.
    • Ensuring all assignments are completed within budget and on time.
    • Managing client compliance deadlines.
    • Staying up-to-date with the latest developments in the field to provide high-quality service.
    • Maintaining Continuing Professional Development (CPD) as required by your professional body.
    • Mentoring and reviewing the work of junior team members.
    • Direct communication with clients to address queries and concerns.

    Skills & Experience:

    • ACA, ACCA, or AAT qualified
    • Experience with payroll processing.
    • A strong understanding of accounting principles and concepts, gained from relevant work experience.
    • Experience using SME cloud-based accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage or FreeAgent.
    • A self-motivated, enthusiastic, and proactive individual eager to grow and develop.
    • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to plan and prioritise effectively.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • A commercial mindset, with a focus on client service, billing, and budget management.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
