Accounts Assistant - Full time - Permanent - Andover - £24,000 - £27,000 - Hybrid

We are excited to be supporting a local manufacturing company in their search for an Accounts Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity based in Andover, where the successful candidate will play a crucial role in the smooth operation of the finance department. This is a fully office-based role with the opportunity to work 1 day from home upon completion of the probationary period. 

Day-to-day of the role:

Accounts Payable:

  • Set up new suppliers and manage supplier relationships.
  • Post supplier invoices and reconcile staff expenses.
  • Generate supplier payments as required.
  • Conduct reconciliation of supplier statements to creditors.
  • Manage cash posting and allocation.
  • Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • Post accruals and prepayment journals.
  • Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to drive best practices and process efficiencies.
  • Promote and maintain strong relationships across all departments.

Accounts Receivable:

  • Set up new customer accounts.
  • Handle credit control duties, including chasing customer payments.
  • Perform other ad hoc duties as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in a similar role within a finance department.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key business stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience using Merlin or similar applications.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • AAT qualification, stopped studier, or equivalent experience.
