My client are seeking an experienced and dynamic Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team in Winchester, focusing on the delivery of cutting-edge nuclear engineering projects. This role is crucial for overseeing the engineering design, development, and delivery of bespoke nuclear solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, proven experience in leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams, and a track record of successfully delivering complex engineering projects.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Implement the engineering delivery strategy for assigned projects, effectively communicating project status, issues, or changes that could impact engineering delivery performance.
  • Manage interfaces between multi-discipline engineering teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Provide input into overall engineering progress, resource management, and client engagement on assigned projects.
  • Identify and manage change, ensuring it is recorded and processed in accordance with the contract.
  • Review and report technical progress on assigned projects, both internally and to external stakeholders.
  • Assess the technical output of the project’s suppliers and sub-contractors to ensure cost-effective, on-time, and fit-for-purpose output.
  • Provide technical and line management of the engineering team for assigned projects.
  • Assist in aspects of running and continuously improving the Engineering Function.
  • Be prepared to undertake regular travel in the UK and overseas when required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Engineering Degree (BEng, MEng, HND) required.
  • Must have experience in a highly regulated industry, ideally nuclear or defence.
  • Ability to achieve SC / DV clearance.
  • Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Strong knowledge of change control and continuous improvement processes.
