Overview
This is an opportunity to join a specialist Networking & Security SME that support UK Secure Gov & Defence clients. This role will involve supporting predominantly UK-cleared customers, providing technical expertise, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Engagement:
- Assist with on-site and remote customer support, understanding their technical requirements, and ensuring satisfaction.
- Collaborate with customers to ensure smooth deployment and ongoing operational effectiveness.
- Problem Resolution:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve network-related technical issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Act as the first point of escalation for technical issues, escalating complex problems to senior engineers when necessary.
Testing and Compatibility:
- Conduct thorough testing of network hardware, software, and configurations to ensure compatibility with customer environments.
- Validate solutions against design specifications and operational requirements.
- Knowledge Sharing:
- Collaborate with team members to share knowledge and best practices.
- Participate in internal and external training programs to enhance technical proficiency.
Documentation:
- Maintain detailed records of troubleshooting processes, network configurations, and customer interactions.
- Develop and update technical documentation, such as user guides and network diagrams.
Communication:
- Deliver technical updates and progress reports to project managers and clients.
- Provide clear and professional communication to customers, stakeholders, and team members.
Expected Skills & Experience
- Clearance: SC Clearance is essential; applicants must hold or be eligible to obtain this level of clearan
- Certification: Industry-recognised certifications such as CCNA, JCNIA, or COMPTIA Network+ are highly desirable.
- Technical Expertise: Familiarity with routing, switching, and network security concepts. Good understanding of network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), and troubleshooting tools. Familiarisation with network management concepts and protocols (configuration management, SNMPv2c/v3, monitoring & alerting etc).
- Problem-Solving Skills: Proven ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues efficiently and effectively.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with customers, stakeholders, and team members.
- Customer Focus: Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining positive customer relationships.
- Documentation: Experience in creating and maintaining accurate technical documentation.
