Legal Assistant - Residential Conveyancing

Are you a motivated and detail-oriented individual looking to take the next step in your legal career? Our client, a well-established law firm with an outstanding reputation in residential conveyancing, is looking for a dedicated Legal Assistant to join their team.

As a Legal Assistant within the residential conveyancing department, you will provide essential support to a team of experienced solicitors, assisting with the smooth progression of property transactions.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a keen interest in property law who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The role is office-based and will be a mixture of hands on legal work as well as administrative and secretarial duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting solicitors with the preparation and management of property transactions from instruction to completion.
  • Liaising with clients, estate agents, mortgage brokers, and other third parties to ensure timely updates and document preparation.
  • Managing client files, drafting correspondence, and conducting searches.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant property law and regulatory standards.
  • Handling administrative duties such as filing, managing calendars, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Reception duties, including handling post, answering the main office door, and managing incoming calls to ensure the smooth operation of the office.

Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in a legal assistant or similar role, ideally within residential conveyancing (though we may consider candidates with strong administrative experience in a legal environment).
  • A good understanding of the conveyancing process and relevant legal terminology.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Proficient in using case management systems and Microsoft Office.
  • A proactive, team-oriented attitude and a desire to provide excellent client service.
